The Coach Haversack: An Obsession
August 18, 2026
The Coach Haversack first appeared around 2008–2009 during the brand’s 65th anniversary and Legacy/Archive collections under Reed Krakoff. Built as a soft, organized shoulder bag, it featured the classic turnlock main closure, two exterior turnlock flap pockets, and side kisslock pockets inspired by vintage coin purses. Original suede versions carried style 12797 and leather ones 13776. The silhouette offered an adjustable strap (roughly 13 to 21 inches with extender), four protective feet, and enough room for a tablet. Coach later reissued it in The Coach Originals as the Turnlock Haversack (CDZ12/CDZ13), keeping the same practical layout in natural grain leather and suede. Clean examples remain valued for their functional hardware, soft drape, and clear ties to Coach’s archival leather tradition.
